SUMMARY:#76 Using R to study Epidemiological Metrics
DESCRIPTION:We welcome back as speaker Dr. Peter Julian Cayton from UP School of Statistics\, who had also been working hard alongside the UP COVID-19 Pandemic Response Team the past few weeks. \nThe presentation will discuss the measures used and devised by the UP COVID-19 Pandemic Response Team to monitor the pandemic situation in the country. They involve the following statistics: cumulative plots\, percent changes\, implied doubling times\, and recovery rates. Epidemiology-specific measures will also be discussed\, which are: 1) the time-varying reproduction number Rt\, and 2) outbreak threshold statistics\, along with a few dashboards. \nThe talk will focus on the approach\, but also showing how R functions help us study Rt.
