DESCRIPTION:Jose Marie Antonio (Joma) Minoza is this month’s speaker. He will introduce us to Cellular Automata in R and some applications (https://mathworld.wolfram.com/CellularAutomaton.html). He is a Data Scientist at UnionBank of the Philippines. He recently defended his thesis as part of the MS Computer Science program of the University of the Philippines – Diliman (UPD). He is also a member of the System Modeling and Simulation Laboratory of UPD’s Department of Computer Science. His research topic is modeling submarine landslides and generated tsunamis.
